update

The rooftop courses can be failed

Eleven obstacles across eight rooftop courses can now be failed, the way they can in Old School. A failure drops you off the roof into the street below, costs you hitpoints, and ends the lap — you walk back to the start and begin again. No experience is paid for a failed obstacle.

Which obstacles, their damage, and the Agility level each course stops failing at:

  • Al Kharid — first tightrope, zip line — 1-5 — stops at 40
  • Varrock — clothes line — 3-8 — stops at 50
  • Canifis — third gap — 3-8 — stops at 64
  • Falador — hand holds — 3-8 — stops at 66
  • Seers' Village — first gap, tightrope — 3-8 — stops at 79
  • Pollnivneach — market stall — 3-8 — stops at 85
  • Rellekka — first tightrope — 3-8 — stops at 85
  • Ardougne — first and second gaps — 3-8 — stops at 95

At the level a course opens at you'll get across roughly 88% of the time — 94% on Rellekka and Ardougne, which open only five levels below their cutoff — improving every level until you cannot fail at all. Draynor Village has no failable obstacle, matching Old School.

Worth a regen bracelet or a few pieces of food if you're running a course at its minimum level.

Fixed. Al Kharid, Canifis and Ardougne had a "You slip, and catch yourself just in time" message that rolled the mark of grace chance instead of your Agility level. It never became less likely as you levelled, never stopped at the level it should have, and took hitpoints off you after you had already crossed. It has been replaced with the real failure.

update

Rooftop railings, and nineteen landings that were thin air

Nineteen of the fifty-eight landings on the rooftop courses could not be stood on at all — the tile you were sent to was over nothing. Seventeen are fixed and the courses run end to end.

The last two are in Pollnivneach, and they are staying. They match Old School exactly, where the landing also looks like it hangs over the edge; the roof model beside them overhangs the tile, which is why they read as broken and are not.

Railings have been added along the roof edges that had none, so the courses look like somewhere you could plausibly run rather than a set of floating planks.

update

Bladed staves get their own attack tab

The staff of the dead and the other bladed staves had the plain staff attack tab, which offered none of the melee styles they are supposed to have. They now get their own weapon class — Jab, Swipe and Fend — and the tab carries a special attack bar.

Four post-2006 specials also play their own animations now rather than borrowing the weapon's ordinary swing, and the graphic is thrown at the target instead of appearing under the player.

The Agility Pyramid and Pyramid Plunder are open

The Agility Pyramid is open, with the full climb and the pyramid top at the end of it. Pyramid Plunder is open alongside it — the four rooms, the urns, the sceptre and the mummies.

Both are built from the 377 cache rather than from a modern reconstruction, so the rooms are laid out the way they were.
